Inez Grant for Solicitor General
Inez Grant served as a front-line prosecutor for 17 years across Northeast Georgia, including roles as chief assistant solicitor in both Hall and Forsyth Counties. During that time, she helped establish Hall County’s Domestic Violence Taskforce, solidifying her commitment to community-focused legal service.
Now, in a defining career milestone, Grant has been appointed by Governor Brian Kemp as the Hall County Solicitor General, returning to lead the very office where she began her journey as a young attorney.
Serving Hall County with Fairness, Safety, and Compassion
Inez’s obligation, goal and focus, along with her office, are to approach every case with the understanding that real people’s lives are at stake. We review each matter individually to ensure decisions are fair, balanced, and made with public safety in mind.
We have expanded our diversion program for low-level offenders, connecting them with culturally relevant service providers, tailored programs, and consistent supervision to help them succeed. We also play an active role in all Northeastern Judicial Circuit accountability courts, partnering with local schools and Hall County’s State and Juvenile Courts to address rising truancy rates.
To reduce jail overcrowding, we prepare low-level offenders’ cases weekly for our State Court Judges. These “jail calendars” allow inmates unable to post bond to have their cases heard quickly—freeing up resources for the most serious crimes. Our prosecutors also appear in Magistrate Court hearings to identify cases that can be resolved sooner, protect victims, and recommend appropriate bond conditions.
Daily case reviews help us spot repeat offenders whose behavior may be linked to mental health or other challenges, allowing us to connect them with county programs that provide support. We give immediate attention to domestic violence and other serious crimes, working closely with victims to ensure their safety and connect them to vital services.
Breaking cycles of violence requires immediate, well-rounded support for victims. That’s why all of our victim advocates are nationally credentialed, our services are trauma-informed and culturally relevant, and every case complies with Marsy’s Law. Since taking office, Inez has restructured our team, pairing specialized prosecutors with skilled advocates to better serve each program and court in Hall County.
Inez’s Commitment to the Community
“It is my honor to serve Hall County as Solicitor General. I would appreciate your support in serving you for another term to continue the work of making our county more safe and compassionate in its administration of the law and in service to crime victims. Through my work as a Solicitor General and out on the trail, I am committed to continue to work for you and to earn your support.” – Inez Grant
